This weekend, I learned the secret to success.
Not how the most rapid fat loss technique, not the best post workout nutrition strategy for muscle gains, not the fastest way to increase your income, or any other “Technique” about the easy way to achieving something.
What I did learn, though, is how to succeed. The REAL way.
Crazy part, its much different and more simple than everyone makes it seem or what we all have been assuming it would be.
You see, we all do this thing where we copy others or try to do as they did so we can accomplish what they’ve accomplished.
But that’s the completely wrong way to go about it, because plain and simple – YOU’RE NOT THEM!
So the real answer is to be authentic. Be you, be real, follow your passion, and be relentlessly committed to creating that ONE THING you truly want.
So whether you’re reading this and focusing on your fat loss goals, your career goals, creating the most outstanding relationship possible, or even just being happy with yourself in life.
The answer is the same, for each and every one of those. And the best part about it is that following this idea of being real and authentic will allow you to achieve success in each avenue of your life.
We follow a code and live our lives according to what we call “The CORE 4”.
BODY – Your physical body, through health and fitness.
BEING – Your internal body, through your emotional, spiritual, and mental self.
BALANCE – Your relationships. Your significant other, family, friends, co-workers and everyone else you surround yourself with.
BUSINESS – Your career. What you want to achieve in your business and finances.
So the important thing to realize is that there is no core 1,2, or 3… It’s always 4, no matter what.
These aspects are the most important thing in any humans life and the moment we slack on one of these, all the rest go to shit.
You cannot focus on your business optimally if your relationships are suffering and negative, your emotional self is depressed and not confident, and your body is being treated unhealthy daily.
This weekend I was at a seminar called Changing The Game 2015… My mentors Luka Hocevar and Steve Krebs run it with their partner Travis Jones, so if you know them you would assume it is a fitness seminar and in a sense it is.
But this year, there was a shift in the topics. Everyone who stepped on that stage was a HUGE influence in the fitness industry and all have had multiple successful businesses’ involving fitness.
So the room is filled with fitness entrepreneurs expecting to take tons of notes on how to program for better fat loss, how to coach nutrition to clients, how to run a gym, etc.…
But almost every speaker went up there, told their story of failures and successes they’ve had and everything they’ve gone through to get where they were today. Then they finished off by telling us the secret to accomplishing this, how they build gyms with insane results and established themselves as the industry’s leaders…
What was the secret?
Be you, be real, be authentic, and stop trying to be like everyone else.
Stop relying on someone else’s strategies or trying to do what “they” did to get where you want to be.
Instead, find your purpose and passion and be relentlessly committed to doing that ONE THING. If you can do this, you will be successful.
So how does this apply to you? You’re thinking, “I don’t want to own a gym or start a fitness business.”
Well that doesn’t matter, because The CORE 4 strategy and the principles about being REAL apply to everyone in every situation.
Want to lose more fat for the summer? Figure out the balance you need to master your Core 4 and I guarantee you will lose more fat.
Want to create a better career? CORE 4! Be real, be authentic, find your passion, and focus all your energy on that.
Want to have a better relationship? How about starting by texting your significant other a message every single day saying something including the words Love, Honor, and/or Appreciate. I guarantee you’ll feel more love for them and they will for you, it’ll lead to a lot more than just that as well.
So the important thing here is not only being you and practicing The Core 4, but also to focus on yourself being happy.
What makes you happy? Why does that make you happy? How can you accomplish that more often?
So to recap this, here are my top 5 take aways from this weekend that everyone should apply:
1.) Be REAL and Authentic. You are unique and the only you on this planet, embrace that and let the world see it.
2.) Surround yourself with people who share the same or very similar values and goals. The people you surround yourself with are the people who will help you grow, whether that is growth in a positive or negative direction.
3.) Nothing happens overnight. Whether it’s a 6-figure salary or fat loss you’re looking for, it all takes hard CONSISTENT work full of passion.
4.) Relationships are probably the most important thing for growth. Building relationships, contacts, networks, and then showing love to these people will always rule the board of success. You NEED these people, embrace them.
5.) Do fun shit! Stop filling your life with only work and stressful things/people. Do fun things you enjoy, spend time with people who bring you up, and take yourself away from the stress – Still must work hard, but there’s a time for it all and fun NEEDS it’s time too.
The last thing I will leave you with is offering my help. If you feel like this stuff relates to you, you suffer daily from negativity or not being able to be happy with any aspect of your CORE 4, or you just feel like you need a coach to guide you through it…
[My next biggest take away from this weekend was that every single person that stepped on that stage has had a coach the entire way through it, and STILL DOES]
