Overcoming resistance is success, period.
To achieve a result, we need to overcome resistance. And this goes for everything in life, no matter what it is you’re searching for results in.
So what exactly is resistance?
Resistance is the shit we just really do not want to do.
All the shit that we have to fight against and battle on a daily basis.
It’s the shit that tests our commitment and dedication to the journey we are on.
So if you’re saving money to buy a house, it’s hitting the bars on the weekend and buying the nice clothes on a regular basis, or it’s the eating at home instead of hitting up the fancy steak house in the city.
If you’re trying to build muscle, it’s those brutal exercises you hate doing but know will give you the best result.
If you’re trying to lose fat, it’s the high intensity sprints and full body workouts. It’s the meal prepping we’d really rather not bother with or the spinach salad we have to eat while we stare at our co-workers delicious Pot Belly sandwich while we eat lunch in the break room.
If you’re in a relationship, maybe its mowing the lawn while your wifey gets her nails done or maybe its taking care of the kids while she takes a break for a night.
So what is the common theme in all this?
We’d much rather eat the shitty food, not run the sprints, hit the bars, and let her watch the kids.
What else is common in all this is that if we say fuck it and beat the resistance, we grow and achieve expansion. We get RESULTS.
We fight resistance every single day and the moment we can recognize it and make the decision to take action against it, is the moment we reach success or push closer towards our goals.
It is fucking hard, that is without a doubt.
But it is so unbelievably powerful when we reach it.
And beating resistance is a habit, once we do it once we can do it again. Do it twice and the third time is bound to happen. No matter how much the situation differs, we get better at beating this resistance and we can do so more often.
But remember, habits can go either way… Good or Bad.
So every time we give into that resistance, eat the junk food over the salad or skip the sprints to go to the bar and blow money on booze….
We become better at giving in. We become better at not getting better.
The biggest shift I’ve made in my life in the last year was calling out that resistance, determining what in my life was a frequently occurring resistance, and pushing myself just a little bit harder to beat that resistance.
In fact, may sound crazy, but I seek it out and get a high off beating it.
There is no better feeling than a solid win and because resistance comes into our lives so often, we have unlimited opportunities to win and to get this natural high.
It can be the littlest thing and it usually is, but when these little victories happen in our life on a consistent basis…
That’s when “the possibilities are endless”.
That’s how the greats succeed.
This is how WE succeed.
Now it’s time to call your own shit out and determine what resistance is coming into your life on a regular basis.
What urge is frequently occurring that is stalling your progress or pushing you further away from your goals?
What decision do you repeatedly have to make in which you’re making the wrong choice?
What choice can you make and action can you take, to beat the resistance next time?
Don’t just read this… write this shit down.
Be brutally honest and answer these questions.
Nobody gets better just reading shit… They get better when they execute.
Execute. Beat The Resistance. Get Better. Now.
