“Wow, its day 3 already… In the weirdest way, it feels like its been 8 days here yet for some reason it seems as if it’s gone by so quickly. “
I don’t know if that even makes sense, but that’s the first thing that was on my mind when I woke up that morning.
Day 3 and Day 4 were probably the most intense days I experienced during the Resurrection Week… But not physically, the workouts in Days 1 and 2 were by far the worse.
But in Day’s 3 and 4, the mental and emotional side of things really came into play and as a guy, that was the hardest part. But at the same time, the most rewarding part as well. These last two days taught me so much about myself, from my past life to where I was now and to where I needed to be.
It taught me why I hold back on the things in my life, why I feel this rock in the pit of my stomach that turns into a burning sense of anxiety and fear, why I sabotage my results as soon as I am on the verge of success, and why I am not being the person I actually am… Like, the REAL me…
Today is going to be the last article of the “4 Part Series”, because I decided to make it a 3 Part Series instead.
The reason for this is simple, the last two days were spent going through specific life changing lessons and exercises that changed everything about us all and created more happiness, clarity, focus, and eliminated more stress and anxiety than anything else, in my opinion, could ever do.
Now I could share all these things we did, in the span of 28 blog articles, with you and hope that you could take away what I did from it…
But the truth is, you wouldn’t be able to.
Because to be able to extract what I took away from that powerful week takes Access, Association, and Accountability.
The lessons were powerful, but if you gave me those lessons while I was back home I would’ve just bullshitted every single answer and pretended I changed.
But during Resurrection Week there are 5 other men just like me, suffering and exposing their struggles. We all called each other out on our bullshit and held each other accountable of living life at a higher standard.
Plus, to get the full life changing effect… You need to check it out for yourself!
But what I will give you, is the three biggest lessons I personally took away and how they changed my life entirely.
#1 – I AM ENOUGH.
Plain and simple.
But remember as I’ve said many times, simple is far from easy.
My issue was always self-doubt and a fear of failure or judgment. I allowed my mind to build up negative thoughts telling myself I cannot succeed because I am not good enough.
I had insecurities that told me I wasn’t able to achieve the things I dreamed of or that I can’t be like “that guy”.
I feared what I did not know or what I had not discovered yet.
I feared what people would say, think, or how they would judge me.
But I learned something that week that took this all away…
I am enough. It doesn’t matter what they think, what they say, what the hell “that guy” is doing, and all my insecurities were completely bullshit stories I made up.
Nobody else, just me! Even if what others thought of me did matter; they weren’t thinking those things I was telling myself anyway!
See I realized that we need to be ourselves, the real and raw version of ourselves because that is the only way we can truly achieve the life we want and be happy with it at the same time.
It took a lot for me to get up and admit my insecurities and fears, but that was my first big step. Once I got it off my chest, I was free to become what I wanted to become.
#2 – CREATE SPACE.
This one has been a true game changer for me.
Creating space is simple, but I can’t stress enough that you need to schedule it because if you think it’s just going to happen then you’re lying to yourself.
So to create space you need to literally do just that, create space. This is a time for you to get away from everyone else and all the sedation tools we use daily to take our minds off of being present with ourselves.
Every day we flood our minds with Facebook, Twitter, Gossiping, TV, and blah blah blah… You know all the shit I’m talking about.
There are many reasons why I believe we do this as a society, but one huge reason for me was that I believed I needed to be doing something for work 24-7.
If I wasn’t “hustling” towards my career goals, then I was wasting time.
But the truth was that when I was “hustling” I was wasting 75% of my time.
I wasn’t being productive at all because I had no clarity or focus in my life.
I had forgotten who I really am and what I actually love to do.
I’ll never forget when Krebs asked us to list out our hobbies and then tell how many of those we actually still do…
I’m 22 and I did not do a damn thing on that list anymore. Age isn’t an excuse because no matter how old you are you should be doing your hobbies, but damn… It hasn’t been long enough for me to lose touch!
So now, at least once a week I do what I love to do and I even added a new hobby.
I now practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu twice a week, go skateboarding once a week, and go on a hike or bike ride once a week as well.
I spend less time doing “work” then I have in the last couple years and the best part about it all is… I’m getting more work done!
The simple answers to why everyone needs to do this are:
-Brings clarity into your life
-It allows you to HAVE FUN again
-Clears your mind of all the clutter and sedations going on
-Easy form of meditation
-Improves your sense of being, in other words this allows you to be more present with your true self
So take home for you today, figure out what you love to do and schedule the time to do it every single week. Even if that is walking a trail around the lake, doesn’t need to be Kung Fu lessons… Just put the phone away and do it!
#3 – LIVE WITH INTEGRITY.
To be able to truly do this can be tough. But you need to in order to be happy AND successful.
If you want to “Have It All”, then this is the solution. And yes, having it all is very much possible.
So ask yourself,
“Who am i?”
“What do I stand for?”
“What do I believe in?”
“What do I stand against?”
“Who do I really want to become?”
Once you have those answers, LIVE BY THEM. EVERY SINGLE DAY.
That is the definition of living with integrity.
But again, if you fear judgment or change, are hung up on hiding your insecurities and the real you, or cannot be present with yourself and others…
Then living with integrity is going to be that much harder.
At the end of the day what I learned came down to the simplest thing ever, yet I was not doing it at all – Even though I was telling others and myself I was.
BE REAL.
BE RAW.
BE RELEVENT.
You see, these last few blogs and all the Facebook posts I’ve been making have probably seemed a little far from the ones I used to make.
But that’s because I am being the REAL me.
Every time I post a blog or a status explaining a hardship I’ve experienced or expressed my actual feelings or even a hard lesson I’ve learned, it’s physically hard to click that post button.
Because at the end of the day I still have that voice creep into the back of my mind, making me fear judgment.
We cannot get rid of that voice, the voice that creates doubt and fear. But we can learn to recognize it and move out of its control and into our own power.
I learned how to do that, with daily tasks and moves I can make on the spot to put me back into power immediately, during Resurrection Week.
I can’t teach you the hundreds of lessons I was taught there, give you the life changing experiences I had there, or give you the bond I created with the other guys and what they each taught me individually.
But if you’re a guy, I can encourage you to experience Resurrection Week. I don’t get anything out of selling you on this, besides the pleasure in knowing you get to change your life like I did.
And if you’re a girl, just keep following all the guys who have experienced this as I believe something may be offered in your future as well.
So what I can give you, is the REAL me and make it RELEVANT to you so that you can improve your own lives as well.
And if that isn’t enough, lets link up. I’d love to help you gain power of your life just like I did of mine.
