It’s not what you do, it’s how you feel.
Maya Angelou has a famous quote,
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
I’m here at 1st Phorm today, still… so I want to continue sharing my experience with you.
Because it’s been powerful.
And today’s daily dose is going to be VERY short and simple.
I walked in and was greeted nicely.
The first boardroom I walked by had a flat screen TV, scrolling through meaningful pictures of myself with my wife and daughter.
The next room had a gift box that contained very personal items (Oasis vinyl record, dog treats for my bulldog, a gift card to my daughter’s favorite restaurant…).
The next hallway had multiple people who knew me from social media, excited to meet me and greeted me with respect.
The next wall I saw had core values blasted across them.
The next hallway had pictures of the charity foundations they support.
I could keep going on, because it’s a 200,000 square foot building….
I then saw Andy Frisella, the CEO of the company, and he stopped what he was doing to bullshit with me and ASK ABOUT ME.
See… I was impressed by the size of the building…
The quality of the decor and design…
The race cars on display…
The basketball court and football field, both inside…
The gym…
With a lot of what was inside.
But what I’ll remember for the rest of my life, is how they made me feel every minute I was there.
And THAT is what we try to do constantly with our clients at Tailored Coaching Method.
It’s what I try to do with every comment or DM.
With every email or coaching call.
All my interactions, every day, all year-round.
Because that’s what matters and that’s what breeds culture.
Period.
