I love this saying above, because I’ve often referred to life as a book. Every single day is a new page, every month is new chapter, every year is a new book and it’s in our own control of how we write the pages of our books.
So when you look at the year of 2014, there are two things that need to be addressed.
First being how has the book been thus far… If you were to read the book of your life in 2014, would you be satisfied? Would it inspire you? Would you read about accomplishments?
The second thing, how will your story end in this book?
We have one month left. That’s only 31 days to make a difference, get better, help more people, become more successful and enter into the new year, your new book, with enough momentum to kick it off the right way.
So how can we crush this month and finish our year as our best possible self?
Step #1: Daily Goal/Task Lists
-Even if this ends up being 1 or 2 things on a sticky note, not one single day should pass in the next 31 days that you don’t write down what you will accomplish in that day. I suggest creating this the night before so when you wake up there is no thinking, just doing. This will give you 10x more drive to get things done, provide more clarity on what NEEDS to get done and it is guaranteed to prevent you from bullshitting your day away. It will also give you the ability to accomplish your End Of Year Goal…
Step #2: End Of Year Goal(s)
-Simple, write down AT LEAST one but a limit of 5 goals to accomplish before New Years. Before doing this, understand you do not need to have a handful of goals for this. It is only 1 month to get shit done and if your goal is TRULY important to you, it is more important to focus all your energy towards getting that one thing done. But think hard, what would make you a much happier and better person? This should be something that you’re willing to work towards every single day to accomplish, because that is exactly what you will be doing.
Step #3: Nightly Review
-Every single night before bed, I suggest setting an alarm or reminder to go off 2-3 hours prior to bed so you have time, you will review your goal/task list and check off each and every thing on that list. If there is anything you cannot check off, then you need to get it done before you go to bed. If this is physically impossible, it will be the first thing on your next days list and you will put an exclamation point, star, underline, or something letting you know it MUST get done ASAP.
So there it is, short and straight to the point. Now take these 3 Easy Steps and apply them right now, literally right now! Take out a piece of paper and start this now.
If you do not take action NOW it will not happen and will not be as effective.
So no more bullshitting, this is the final chapter of YOUR book of 2014 and I can guarantee that your book of 2015 will be incredibly better, more inspiring, and full of more accomplishments if you take this 100% seriously and make the next 31 days the best they possibly can be.
