You can’t win, if you’re afraid to lose.
This actually comes straight out of a Chris Stapleton song, believe it or not… But once I heard it, I literally hit the brakes, stopping my truck in the middle of traffic, and wrote it down on a notepad that I keep in my center console.
Yes, I am that guy in traffic! And you should be that person, too. When you have an idea, hear a quote, get a feeling, or get inspired – STOP what you’re doing right then and there and jot it down so you don’t lose the thought (because trust me, you will lose it if you don’t).
Now, the exact quote from Chris was, “Nobody who wins is afraid of losing.”
Think about that for a moment…
Close your eyes… take a few deep breaths… and process that statement.
YOU WILL NOT WIN IF YOU’RE NOT WILLING TO LOSE.
This applies across the board.
Because you will never get _____ result (aka your ultimate desired situation, experience, or outcome) if you’re not willing to fail, at least once, along the way.
And if you look at EVERY successful CEO… shredded physique athlete… strongest gym enthusiasts… amazing professional athletes…
They’ve tried numerous times before they got it.
They’ve done the fad diets.
They’ve launched different businesses.
They’ve failed PR attempts.
They’ve missed thousands of free throws.
THEY’VE LOST → SO THAT THEY CAN WIN.
And if you’re afraid of losing…
Of learning the hard lessons…
Of being judged…
You won’t win.
So learn how to embrace losing, so that you can finally win.
